A Hat-Trick for Sustainability: All Three of Our Restaurants Win Green Tourism Gold Award

We’re incredibly proud to share some exciting news all three of our restaurants at the Hooked-on Group-Blackfriars, Dobson & Parnell, and Hinnies have each been awarded the Green Tourism Gold Award, the highest accolade for sustainability in our industry.

This hat-trick of Gold Awards is a huge achievement for our team and reflects years of hard work, dedication, and a genuine commitment to running restaurants that care about their environmental impact just as much as the food we serve and the service we deliver.

The Green Tourism Gold Award is internationally recognised and only given to businesses that demonstrate exceptional efforts to reduce their environmental footprint while creating meaningful, enjoyable experiences for guests. To have all three of our restaurants recognised at this level is something we’re truly proud of.

Across the Hooked-on Group, we’ve introduced a wide range of initiatives to support our sustainability goals. We prioritise seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and avoid air-freighted goods wherever possible to reduce our environmental impact. To cut emissions in our supply chain, we’ve invested in an all-electric refrigerated van that transports fresh fish from North Shields Fish Market and local produce to each of our restaurants.

As our Operations Director Ruth Terrington explains,

“Achieving the Green Tourism Gold Award across all three of our restaurants is a huge milestone for the Hooked-on Group. It’s a testament to the passion and hard work of our teams, who are committed not just to creating exceptional dining experiences, but doing so in a way that’s mindful of the environment and our communities. We’re proud to show that quality dining and sustainability really can go hand in hand.”

These Gold Awards aren’t the end of the road they’re just the beginning. As a group, we’re committed to continuing our efforts and making even more positive changes as we move forward.
